Character InformationName: Nathaniel Christopher Charles Summers (or Nathan for short)
Age: 8
Fandom: marvel (X-men forever canon)
Point In Fandom Taken From: after Scott arrives in Alaska to spend time with his family.
Brief History: Christopher Charles Summers was born to Madelyn Pryor-Summers and Scott Summers on May 3. He was a healthy baby, and the apple of his parents' eyes. Madelyn was particularly attached to the baby, obviously putting him ahead of Scott in almost everything. Scott loved his son too, but soon became distracted when he realized that Jean Grey had come back to life. He went to New York to see her and catch up with his friends, and got caught up in adventures with them for nearly a month.
During that time, Mr. Sinister attacked Madelyn and Christopher, kidnapping the boy and sending Madelyn to the hospital. Madelyn died of her injuries there, alone.
Scott would have returned to an empty house, if not for the presence of an older stranger. The man was crying, and Scott was more than a bit bewildered himself. He challenged the man, demanding to know where his wife and child were.
Even when he saw the man's face, Scott didn't recognize him. Christopher didn't recognize his son, either. He laughed bitterly and spoke circularly about that being his question too.
In time, both men revealed that this was their familial home, and they came to realize their relationship to one another. Neither man was quite sure what to think or do about it, and there wasn't time for that, beside. Christopher agreed to help Scott locate the baby, and the men were off on an adventure, using the X-men's help to locate Nathan. Jean eagerly joined Scott in the hunt, and so did Henry and Logan. As a team they found Mr. Sinister and the now much older baby, who was addressed by the name Nathan. Sinister was quite eager to keep Nathan, saying that the boy was perfect, and now rightfully his son. The fight was rough, and when it seemed he was about to lose, Sinister threatened to kill the boy, since he would let nobody else have his son.
Sinister got the snot beaten out of him, and Nathan reluctantly went with his father. Christopher suggested they go live with his mother for the time being, to give Nathan time to get used to them again. Chris wound up staying there, and agreed to tend to the boy, who seemed to be around four years of age. Scott stayed with them for a year and a half, learning to love his son, as his son learned to love him. By the end they were inseparable, and Nathan's biggest joy was riding on his dad's motorcycle, feeling the wind whip by them, safe in his father's arms.
Scott reluctantly went back to the X-men, mourning for his wife. It put a barrier between him and Jean, which bore fruit when she confessed to loving Logan rather than Scott. This took years, though, and by the time he realized it had happened, his son was turning eight (though he should only be four).
Personality: Nathan is a bouncy young boy, eager to please. He loves food, cars, and science. More than that, he loves his father and grandfather and his great grand-mother. Family and friends are the center of his universe.
He's a bright boy, and does well in school. Despite his bouncy nature, Nathan is also shy, so often he will read in preference to talking to the other kids, which means that the two friends he does have are even more important to him than normal. His teachers love him, showering him with praise.
He is very mechanically inclined, and is helping his father rebuild a car from the 1940's. He also loves his grandfather's space ship, and the aliens that visit from time to time. Hepzibah is especially nice to him, and he enjoys petting her and listening to her stories.
All in all, Nathan is a happy child. He is also jealous, especially of anyone who takes his father away. For this reason, Nathan hates the X-men, and has vowed never to become one.
